Bucilla Felt Stocking Kits

On my 18th birthday, I went to America to visit my aunt who was a nanny out there. I was toying with the idea of moving there to become a nanny myself so she paid for me to go and see whether I liked it or not.
While I was there, I was introduced to the wonderful world of Bucilla felt kits. My aunt had started a Christmas tree skirt kit but hadn’t found time to finish it. She said that as long as I promised to finish it, I could take it home with me.

Crafting

I already loved Christmas and enjoyed doing crafts such as cross stitch and rag rug making. The felt kits became my favourite craft.

The first tree skirt was for my mum then another aunt asked me to make her kit up for her. I then bought another for myself from a shopping channel!

They were quite expensive back then and I didn’t buy any more until this year when I saw some stockings on Amazon.

Cupcake Angel Stocking

My stepdaughter loves all things cupcakes so when I saw a cupcake angel stocking I had to make it for her.

The girls saw me making and both said they wished they could have one so I secretly ordered them one each and worked on them when they were in bed or at school.

Sugar Plum Fairy & Princess Stockings

When they opened them on Christmas Eve, they were absolutely delighted with them. Kaycee even got a little emotional ๐Ÿ™‚
I made Ella a sugar plum fairy stocking and Kaycee a princess stocking

I love the amount of detail that goes into these and they make a really special personalised gift.

Wreath Kits

I want to make a wreath for next year and I’m planning on making Aiden, Kaycee and Ella a tree skirt each for when they get their own homes.
I’m going to be doing them a special box containing the tree ornaments that I’ve bought them each year since they were born, their Christmas mugs collection, their fleecy throws, their stockings and a tree skirt for their first Christmas in their new homes.
I know I’m getting ahead of myself as Kaycee and Ella are only 10 and 8. Aiden’s nearly 16 so it won’t be too long before he gets a place of his own.
